For the last decade this question keeps popping up every now and then. A lot of big studios are closing their doors, others manage to survive and a lot are actually doing great. But as a musician or band, looking to make a new record, this should not the question you ask yourself. You should ask yoursel:

Why should you pay for a studioroom that you actually don’t need?

Recording studios are still important

Of course recording studios haven’t become obsolete by now, that statement would be to simple. But as it often is, it depends, in this case especially on the type of music you are playing. Is say: you don’t need a big recording studio to produce a rock or metal record anymore

Rock or Metal does not need big studios anymore

In rock and metal most productions work the same way: drums, bass, guitars, vocals and maybe some synths or programmings. With the technology we have today, you can easily record most of those things anywhere. Amp simulations sound perfectly like the real deal. Live drums are pretty much the only thing, where you need a proper room and equipment to record, but that’s it.

Recording has become mobile

I don’t have my own recording studio. When you hire me to produce or record your music, you can reap the benefits of me being flexible. When a big room is needed, e.g. for drum recordings we can use your rehearsal room or rent a recording studio near you. For everything else, pretty much anything is possible. I bring all the necessary equipment, so that we can easily track in your living room, if that’s what suits you best.

Flexibility

This high level of flexibility allows me to offer you productions at a lower price, than I would have to charge when owning a big recording studio myself. So when you think about a professional partner to make your next record, then don’t spend your hard earned money on renting a big room for 10 days and use it only 3 days in the end. You’re smarter than that.

I’m ready when you are!
